SoCal Corgi Nation marches AGAIN!!! YES, the SO CAL CORGI NATION CHRISTMAS PARADE is back, Saturday December 2nd, 2023!!!

This will be our 8th year marching in the Belmont Shore Christmas Parade in Long Beach, CA. If you haven't been before, you are IN FOR A TREAT! Hundreds of corgis dressed in their most festive Christmas gear, spreading PAWLIDAY CHEER during the Belmont Shore Christmas Parade (their 39th year!)

THIS PARADE IS THE 2ND LARGEST HOLIDAY PARADE IN CALIFORNIA! YOU ARE IN FOR A GREAT TIME!

Spaces are limited to 200 humans marching- you MUST have a ticket to march. Please read EVERYTHING below for instructions on how to get your ticket to march!

1. HOW TO GET YOUR TICKET: We have a new So Cal Corgi Nation flag, special edition design for the Christmas Parade. This flag is your "TICKET TO MARCH' in the parade. Because we are limited to 200 persons, every human in the parade MUST HAVE THEIR OWN FLAG to march in the parade and you must march with a CORGI.

***FLAGS ARE NOW SOLD OUT TO MARCH IN THE PARADE!!!*** YOU MUST HAVE PURCHASED A FLAG TO MARCH IN THE PARADE***

2. PARADE PAWTICIPANT DETAILS & INFO: The parade route travels along 2nd street, Long Beach, CA. Our group must be lined up by 5:30 pm, so please plan accordingly. The exact meeting location will be sent out to all participants prior to the event. The parade is about 1.5 miles round trip, so if you have older or lazy corgs (or small children) consider bringing a wagon for them to ride along in or a pet backpack.

If you are NOT marching with us, feel free to cheer us on the parade route as a spectator! The parade is FREE TO WATCH- (the flag/ticket is ONLY required if you are marching with us). Come on down and cheer the CHRISTMAS CORGI CREW on!

3. CONTESTS and HOLIDAY ATTIRE: Along with the flag, Holiday Attire is MANDATORY for all persons marching- and we also encourage CORGIS to dress up as well and/or decorate your wagons if you bring one. Break out those Santa hats, tacky Christmas Sweaters, Corgi Themed Christmas outfits and your favorite festive holiday gear! The more OUTRAGEOUS the better!

We will be having another Corgi Christmas Parade Best CorgWagon Contest prior to parade kick off so be sure to deck out your corgwagon with lights, garland, a holiday theme.. get creative!!!

THE THEME FOR THE PARADE IS "CHRISTMAS BY THE SEA", (how perfect is that?!).

CORGI NATIONALS FAQ'S:

1. Where will the event take place?
Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, CA, This iconic race track and event location is nestled in the foothills of the Sierra Madre Mountains. Santa Anita Park has been a part of SoCal’s history since it first opened on Christmas Day in 1934.

The “Infield” area is where all the action is at. This is a giant grassy area bigger than a football field. The infield area includes: VIP area, general admission area, all of our Corgi Nationals Vendors and food/beverage booths. The qualifier and quarterfinal races will be held there and they will be set up directly in front of the VIP area. We will then move the two semifinal races and the Final race to the actual horse track directly in front of the grandstands.

2.     Are corgis allowed in the grandstands?  There are NO corgis allowed in the grandstand area where the semifinals and final races take place. If you bring your corgi and wish to view the semifinals and final races, there is a massive jumbotron in the infield area where the races will be shown live as they happen.

3.     Can I bring my corgi to the event, and do I need to get them a ticket?  Yes, you may bring your corgi.  ONLY corgis will be allowed (or corgi mixes), per Santa Anita’s request.  You do NOT need to buy a ticket for your dog, admission is free for corgis/corgi mixes.  Corgis are allowed in both VIP and GA sections. Please note all dogs MUST be on leash AND YOU MUST BRING YOUR DOGS PROOF OF VACCINATION-Rabies and Distemper/Parvo. Dogs will NOT be admitted without proof of vaccination so PLEASE BE SURE TO BRING. 

4.  What can I bring inside Santa Anita?
🏖️Chairs/beach chairs, wagons and blankets
Coolers (with food/beverage- NO alcoholic beverages allowed)
⛱️Umbrellas (beach style ones or ones that attach to chairs)
Doggie Poo Bags and Water for your corgs!
🦊Corgis (MUST be vaccinated- only corgis or corgi mixes allowed for this event- and MUST BRING PROOF OF VACCINATION!- See above for ALL DETAILS on vaccinations required)
❌NO POP UP TENTS or SHADE CANOPIES allowed.

If you have GA tickets, we recommend bringing a beach umbrella for shade. The Corgi Nationals area is large and there will be PLENTY of room to set up chairs, blankets and umbrellas on the grass. There will be some chairs/tables provided in the GA area.

Chairs, tables and shade will be provided in the VIP area and VIP ticketholders are free to move about the GA and VIP areas as well. For prime racing views, we recommend VIP ticket.

There will be beer/wine/beverage stations in GA as well as VIP, along with gourmet food trucks.

All items are subject to search at entrance.

6.     How can I register my corgi to race?  RACE SPOTS WILL OPEN IN APRIL- Lotto closes on May 1st. 100 corgis will be selected to race. (LOTTO IS NOW CLOSED AND ALL CORGIS HAVE BEEN SELECTED)

7.     If my corgi is registered to race, do I still need to buy a ticket?  Yes, all humans attending MUST have either a VIP or General Admission ticket.

8.  Can I buy tickets at the door?  Yes, General Admission tickets will be available for purchase at the gate on the day of the event. GA tickets at gate will be $15 day of event. Gates open to all at 11:00M.

9.  Are kids free?  Yes, kids 17 and under are free and do not need a ticket.  There is a family zone including facepainting, playground and pony rides adjacent to the Corgi Nationals for the kiddos.

CORGI WINTER NATIONALS FAQ'S:

1. Where will the event take place?
Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, CA, This iconic race track and event location is nestled in the foothills of the Sierra Madre Mountains. Santa Anita Park has been a part of SoCal’s history since it first opened on Christmas Day in 1934.

The “Infield” area is where all the action is at. This is a giant grassy area bigger than a football field. The infield area includes: VIP area, general admission area, all of our Corgi Nationals Vendors and food/beverage booths. The qualifier and quarterfinal races will be held there and they will be set up directly in front of the VIP area. We will then move the two semifinal races and the Final race to the actual horse track directly in front of the grandstands.

2.     Are corgis allowed in the grandstands?  There are NO corgis allowed in the grandstand area where the semifinals and final races take place. If you bring your corgi and wish to view the semifinals and final races, there is a massive jumbotron in the infield area where the races will be shown live as they happen.

3.     Can I bring my corgi to the event, and do I need to get them a ticket?  Yes, you may bring your corgi.  ONLY corgis will be allowed (or corgi mixes), per Santa Anita’s request.  You do NOT need to buy a ticket for your dog, admission is free for corgis/corgi mixes.  Corgis are allowed in both VIP and GA sections. Please note all dogs MUST be on leash AND YOU MUST BRING YOUR DOGS PROOF OF VACCINATION-Rabies and Distemper/Parvo. Dogs will NOT be admitted without proof of vaccination so PLEASE BE SURE TO BRING. 

4. Are humans required to show proof of Covid Vaccination?
Bring Proof of Vaccination: Per the Los Angeles County Health Department, attendees 12 and up must provide proof of vaccination status prior to entering Santa Anita Park. Alternatively, attendees can show proof of a negative test result taken within 72 hours before the start time of the event. Digital, photo or vaccination card accepted.

5.  What can I bring inside Santa Anita?
🏖️Chairs/beach chairs, wagons and blankets
Coolers (with food/beverage- NO alcoholic beverages allowed)
⛱️Umbrellas (beach style ones or ones that attach to chairs)
Doggie Poo Bags and Water for your corgs!
🦊Corgis (MUST be vaccinated- only corgis or corgi mixes allowed for this event- and MUST BRING PROOF OF VACCINATION!- See above for ALL DETAILS on vaccinations required)
❌NO POP UP TENTS or SHADE CANOPIES allowed.

If you have GA tickets, we recommend bringing a beach umbrella for shade. The Corgi Winter Nationals area is large and there will be PLENTY of room to set up chairs, blankets and umbrellas on the grass. There will be some chairs/tables provided in the GA area.

Chairs, tables and shade will be provided in the VIP area and VIP ticketholders are free to move about the GA and VIP areas as well. For prime racing views, we recommend VIP ticket.

There will be beer/wine/beverage stations in GA as well as VIP, along with gourmet food trucks.

All items are subject to search at entrance.

6.     How can I register my corgi to race?  RACE SPOTS OPENED UP DECEMBER 1st via Eventbrite and are now SOLD OUT.

7.     If my corgi is registered to race, do I still need to buy a ticket?  Yes, all humans attending MUST have either a VIP or General Admission ticket.

8.  Can I buy tickets at the door?  Yes, General Admission tickets will be available for purchase at the gate on the day of the event. GA tickets at gate will be $10 day of event. Gates open to all at 10:30AM.

9.  Are kids free?  Yes, kids 17 and under are free and do not need a ticket.  There is a family zone including facepainting, playground and pony rides adjacent to the Corgi Winter Nationals for the kiddos.

Due to Covid-19, Belmont Shore has officially CANCELLED the annual Christmas Parade. One of our favorite events of the year, this would have been our 7th year “TAKING OVER” the Christmas Parade and bringing smiles to thousands of paradegoers along the route.

We will miss the parade this year, but we’ll be back!!! 2021 here we come!

The State of California has not permitted large events and festivals to resume nor have they have announced any guidelines at this time. Fall Corgi Beach Day will NOT be held at Huntington Dog Beach on October 24th. As soon as we can be back, we will, Corgi Nation! And we can't wait to be back! In the meanwhile, another Virtual Corgi Beach Day event is coming soon, (closer to the holiday season!), in the works now and announcements to come very soon!

The show opens with a bang on February 8th and runs through April 4th. Opening reception night will feature dozens of your favorite CORGI artists and their corgi themed submissions, vendors and more SURPRISES to be announced!

MADE by Millworks is a 2-story art gallery and store, with an attached beer/wine lounge and bar, Elinor. The art show in the gallery is ALL AGES (but to enter the bar it is 21+ over). The BEST NEWS....the ENTIRE EVENT IS CORGI-FRIENDLY! Yes, BRING YOUR CORGS to the art show AND the bar!!!

Please note: all dogs MUST be on leash at all times with current vaccinations and of course, well behaved corgos only please! :)
